When weather conditions pose a significant threat to the majority of students, faculty and staff traveling safely to campus, university offices will close and classes will be canceled at UNT's campus in Denton as well as the UNT Dallas Campus, at the Universities Center at Dallas, and at other locations where classes are offered.
Faculty, staff and students should listen to area radio and television stations for announcements of closures of area schools and universities.
Radio stations that give notification of closures include KAAM (720 AM), KBFB (97.9 FM), KCBI (90.9 FM), KDBN (93.3 FM), KDGE (102.1 FM), KDMX (102.9 FM), KDXX (1480 AM), KEGL (97.1), KERA (90.1FM), KESN (103.3 FM), KESS (1270 AM), KFXR (1190 AM), KHCK (99.1 FM), KHKS (106.1 FM), KHVN (970 AM), KHYI (95.3 FM), KKDA (104.5 FM), KKDL 106.7 FM), KLIF (570 AM), KLNO (94.1 FM), KLTY (94.9 FM), KLUV (98.7 FM), KMEO (96.7 FM), KNTU (88.1 FM), KOAI (107.5 FM), KPLX (99.5 FM), KRBV (100.3 FM), KRLD (1080 AM), KRNB (105.7 FM), KSCS (96.3 FM), KSOUL (94.5 FM), KTCK(1310 AM), KVIL (103.7 FM), KYNG (105.3 FM), KZPS (92.5 FM), WBAP (820 AM) and WRR (101.1 FM).
Television stations that give notification of closures include KDAF-TV (Channel 33), KDFW-TV (Channel 4), KTVT-TV (Channel 11), KXAS-TV (Channel 5), KXII-TV (Channel 12,Sherman), WFAA-TV (Channel 8) and Charter Communications (Channel, 25, Denton Cable).
Closure for the day may be announced by early morning or the evening before. If the university is open and a decision is made to close for the rest of the day and the evening, the main telephone numbers for departments may be forwarded to the university's Broadcast Notification System.

Faculty, staff and students who commute long distances to campus can call the Texas Department of Transportation's Dallas District's Area wide Hotline at (800) 452-9292 for information on road conditions. The 24-hour recording is updated regularly and includes information on highways in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall counties.
