When you take some classes such as special problems classes, you can choose how many hours you want the class to be worth (usually somewhere between 1-4). Talk with your advisor or your professor to determine how many hours the class should be worth for you.
To register for a class with variable hours,
Complete the steps in Adding a class until you see the Class Enrollment Options screen.
Type the number of units you would like the class to be worth.
Click OK.
Click Submit.
