Beginning Fall 2007, this new student success program allows talented undergraduate students from families with adjusted gross incomes below $40,000 to earn bachelor’s degrees without the cost of tuition and fees getting in the way.
Admissions process
Prospective students should apply as early as possible. All necessary credentials, such as the Texas Common Application for admission to Texas public universities (either the paper version or the online version), official transcripts and required entrance test scores, must be on file in the Office of Admissions (undergraduate) by the admission deadline for the semester in which you wish to enroll.
Financial Aid overview
Financing your college education will require budgeting and careful planning, for you and perhaps for your parents. And, although college costs are kept low at the University of North Texas due to state assistance, many students still need help financing their education. Financial aid makes it possible for thousands of students to attend the university.
Scholarship overview
You will find that most scholarships at UNT for entering freshmen are administered by Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. UNT provides a limited number of renewable scholarships awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to students who are in the top 10 percent of their high school class at the time of admission to UNT and score at least 1200 on the SAT or 27 on the ACT (written portion excluded).

Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program
Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement programs are designed to encourage low-income, first-generation, and/or underrepresented undergraduates to consider careers in college teaching as well as prepare for doctoral study. Students who participate in this program are provided with research opportunities and faculty mentors. This program was named in honor of the astronaut who died in the 1986 space-shuttle explosion. Currently, there are 179 programs nationally.

Program designed to help undergraduate students meet the challenges of college. The objective of the program is student retention and the goal — graduation.
