College Access Loan (CAL)

How To Apply?

All 2006-2007 fall/spring CAL certifications will begin mid-July.

All College Access Loan (CAL) applications are now processed electronically. To be eligible for a CAL loan, a student must:

  1. Have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application on file at UNT
  2. Be eligible to pay in-state tuition
  3. Be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  4. Be enrolled at least half-time
  5. Be in a program leading to a degree or certification
  6. Have an eligible co-signer
  7. Must be credit worthy

Students who meet all these criteria and are interested in applying for the CAL should logon to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board site and follow the site's directions. Completed applications should be mailed to the Austin address as instructed. Do not mail your CAL application to UNT. UNT will be notified of your application electronically and your eligibility will be confirmed at that time. Please allow two to three weeks after your signed application is received in Austin for processing time.

For the fastest delivery of your CAL funds, ensure you select "YES" for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
