Priority Dates

To receive first consideration for awards, you must apply for financial aid as early as possible before the academic period for which you are requesting assistance. First consideration for awards is given to students who have the greatest need and who have submitted all required documentation to our office by the priority date. Financial aid is limited and the demand is usually greater than available funds. Applying for financial aid is usually a two- to three-month process.

Application information is received once a week from the Central Processing System (the federal processing agency). It contains the data from your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application (see General Application Process and Documents Required for more info). Your data must reach our office before processing of your file can begin. You are responsible for completing the application in a timely manner so the data and all completed documents reach our office before the priority dates.
