Toward Excellence, Access and Success (TEXAS) Grant Program

Criteria for:
Initial Award Students
Criteria for:
Continuing Award Students
  • Have an expected family contribution of $4,000 or less.
  • Complete the advanced, recommended, or distinguished high-school curriculum.
  • Be a Texas resident.
  • Enroll in at least 9 hrs.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress set by the institution - cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and 75% completion of attempted hours in the prior academic year.
  • Establish financial need.
  • Complete the advanced, recommended, or distinguished high-school curriculum.
  • Be a Texas resident.
  • Enroll in at least 9 hrs.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress of cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and 75% completion of attempted hours in the prior academic year.

If you meet all of the above requirements, please complete the 2006-2007 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online by visiting http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. We are currently seeking qualified applicants who may be eligible to receive TEXAS Grant funds to pay applicable Tuition and Fee costs at the University of North Texas.

Funding is limited and awards are contingent upon each student's demonstration of financial need based on the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
